Re: Mark Nobel thinks...
He was ok today. Too many shit passes and flying tackles. He's ok, not a world beater and the fifth best midfielder we have currently

Probably our best team since the World Cup and better than we ever were with Harry and the Golden Generation as youngsters.

A fit Song was just as good as Yaya Toure for us today clubs like us don't normally have that kind of quality.

Re: Mark Nobel thinks...
We have had weaknesses up front and at the back over the years and in some of the teams of yesteryear those weaknesses occurred at the same time. However, being an ex-midfielder myself, albeit back in the days of Woodbines and a lace in the ball, I always felt that this was the area where most games were won over a season even at lower levels than the professional game. I and others used to bore OneMac particularly with calls for more mobility in central midfield (he agreed by the way but had the self control to not mention it all the time like me :-) ) but it does not surprise me that we are all of a sudden looking a much better team now that we have some technical quality and mobility in the middle. Of course, the back four and keeper can still make mistakes that costs you games and the strikers can miss sitters but over a season a strong midfield is what will get you results IMHO.

Re: Mark Nobel thinks...
Bit of an easy one that.

Parker aside, who'd get a game/bench it's our best midfield for years.

Re: Mark Nobel thinks...
What's he on? Song can't hold a candle next to the master of midfield known as "Kovac".

Oh how I miss the poster "BurnKovac". His rantings after a game were comedy gold but also founded upon fact :-)
